Paradise tease

November 14, 2010

We arrived in Tahiti at 11pm last night. Then it took us about an hour to get our stuff and get through customs. Then we caught a cab to get to our hotel. We stayed at the radisson resort, which was the
Farthest of all the resorts. It was all worth it, though, because our room was awesome! Though we were only gonna be there to sleep and then leave at 7 in the morning. It was already miidnight when we got there and we were beat...

7am we checked out and met Carl, our tour guide for the quick circle island tour that we had to get in before our 5pm flight to Auckland. His wife, Dolores, was also with them and they taught us stuff about the Tahitian culture while showing us the beautiful nature sights. The only thing that bothers me about Tahiti is the overwhelming number of homeless dogs roaming around. People feed them but it just bothers me.

Along our trip around the island, we saw numerous waterfalls, a sacred temple, many crazy plants and got to experience fresh coconut and chestnuts "mapa" (which I am now obsessed with!). I just couldn't get enough...

Lunch was at a great restaurant right on the water, where we experienced traditional Tahitian food (mine, of course, was without the meat).
