It's now Tuesday before noon and we are sitting at the Auckland airport waiting for our flight to queenstown. The Auckland airport is the nicest airport that I have ever had the pleasure of being in. Last night when we arrived in the international terminal, we were welcomed by holy cleanliness and friendly people. It is true so far that kiwis are incredibly nice, apart from the customs agent that ripped Jason a new one because he didn't declare his hiking boots (though it was his fault, she could have been a little nicer). Even when we got in a cab to go to our Hotel, which wasn't very far from the airport, to save our money and just take the shuttle. In new York, a cab driver would never do that. They would just think of the 40 bucks they would make from the ten minutes of work.
Today will officially be the start of our new Zealand adventure. Tonight we are doing a cruise on lake takatipu (I think that's what it's called), which is the lake that queenstown is situated on, over to Walter peak high country farm for a dinner and farm visit. We will be cruising on the t.s. Earnslaw, which is an old steamship.
Stay tuned....
